Four of our clinicians from The Family Psychologist are in training to be race-ready for the Bewdley Rowing Club Beginners Fun Regatta – being held at Bewdley Rowing Club, Riverside North, Bewdley on Saturday 6 June.
Our intrepid team, aptly & optimistically named ‘Shrinks don’t Sink’, have been practising weekly at Bewdley ready for the big race over 400m of the River Severn. Even more preparation has been going into their costumes, as the event encourages fancy-dress for all the teams, adding to the fun of the event which sees BBQs and a disco rounding off the day’s festivities.
At the heart of this endeavor is their aim to raise funds for Autism West Midlands, their chosen charity to donate their sponsorship to.
Autism West Midlands provide support for adults, children and their families in the West Midlands area. The leading charity helps autistic people to live as independent lives as possible, through their network of expert staff and volunteers. From support and training through to their free information helpline, we recognise and applaud the valuable work that they provide to the 60,000 autistic adults and children living in the West Midlands.
Find out how you can support Autism West Midlands through our JustGivingPage – and learn more about their essential pre and post diagnostic, community-based support at Autism West Midlands.
We’ll all be cheering you on, on race day, Team and hope you keep those costumes dry!
